Driver/Operator – General

This course is designed to train firefighting driver/operators with the knowledge and skills to meet the minimum job performance requirements as outlined in NFPA 1002. This course prepares the firefighter to assume responsibility as a fire apparatus operator It also includes the study of the practices and procedures involved in the safe and effective operation of today’s fire apparatus. Additionally, this course is also designed for Officers who are responsible for the administration of vehicle operations. This course covers common driving hazards, vehicle maintenance and inspections, and driver’s training.
